The L236 Pleco (known as the Hypancistrus sp.) is a rare, high-end catfish famous for its striking black and white patterns. It is highly prized by aquarium hobbyists and breeders. The most famous type is the "Super White" line, which features crisp white bodies with dark, wavy lines.

Tank Setup
- Tank Size: You need at least a 20-gallon tank for a small group. Do not keep them in tiny 10-gallon tanks.

- Water Flow: They like fast-flowing, clean water with high oxygen levels. Regular water changes are required.
Food and Diet
Unlike common plecos, the L236 is a carnivore and does not eat much algae.
- Meaty Foods: Feed them frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp.
- Dry Foods: Use high-protein sinking pellets and wafers.
Behavior
They are peaceful fish that stay at the bottom of the tank. They get along great with other calm community fish like tetras. However, male plecos can get territorial with each other over the best caves.
